Consumers can report fuel stations that are not selling fuel, and action will be taken to close those stations if violations are confirmed, according to the Ministry of Energy.
The Ministry of Energy stated that it has implemented a fuel security plan and has imported and stored enough fuel for about 40 days. Fuel is being distributed nationwide from Thilawa, Yangon, using fuel bowsers, and regular supplies are being delivered from the Thilawa terminals. Urgent purchase orders are also being issued to high-demand fuel stations to ensure continuous sales. The ministry also urged consumers not to purchase fuel unnecessarily. If fuel stations are found not selling fuel despite having supplies, consumers can report the matter by phone, and the stations will face closure if the violation is confirmed. Officials are also conducting awareness campaigns at fuel stations.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Energy, the Director General of the Petroleum Products Regulatory Department is leading field inspections to check real-time fuel availability at stations in Nay Pyi Taw and to ensure that stations requiring additional fuel are quickly replenished. Supervisory and inspection officers in regions and states are also working with relevant departments to measure fuel stocks and inspect auto tank gauges (ATGs) to ensure timely fuel delivery and sales and to prevent shortages.
