Two Injured, Monastery Burned, and Livestock Killed in Junta Airstrikes on Gwa Township

Two local residents were injured, a monastery was destroyed, and livestock were killed after the military junta conducted airstrikes on Kyeintali Town and Yay Kyaw Village in Arakan State's Gwa Township.

The attack occurred at approximately 1:00 AM on September 25, 2026, when military junta fighter jets dropped 500-pound bombs on the area. The bombardment injured Daw Khin Thidar San (40) and U Moe Lwin (47), both residents of Ward No. 2 in Kyeintali Town.

Additionally, a bomb struck a monastery in Yay Kyaw Village, burning the buildings to the ground and killing several domestic animals, including cattle.

The military junta is currently utilizing land, naval, and air forces across the Rakhine region. Continuous daily airstrikes have forced waves of local residents to flee to safety.

A Gwa resident stated that this mass displacement has prevented people from working, leaving them facing severe livelihood and survival difficulties.

In a separate incident at 2:00 AM on September 25, military junta forces conducted further aerial bombings on Pyidawtha Ward, PC Pipe-the-Yin Village, Wakin Village, and Don Yat Village in Kyauktaw Township. Those attacks injured seven local residents, including members of the Muslim community.
