Two Civilians Killed in ARSA Landmine Attack Near Arakan-Bangladesh Border

Two young men from Minbya Township were killed in a landmine explosion attributed to the ARSA terrorists while transporting goods on a hand-tractor near the border in Maungdaw Township, on March 8, 2026.
The victims were identified as Win Myat Aung, 31, son of U Maung San Kyaw, and Soe Than Naing, 18, son of U Thint Ka Kyaw. Both originally hailed from Khaung Laung Ywar Thit Village in Minbya Township but had been working in Kha Maung Seik village, Maungdaw Township, earning a living by using a hand-tractor (trawlargy) with trolley to carry goods for hire.
