One killed, one loses leg in two landmine blasts in Maungdaw Township

Recently, there have been two separate landmine explosions in Maungdaw Township, Arakan (Rakhine) State, near Bangladesh, leading to the death of one individual and causing another person to amputate a leg.
The individual who passed away was identified as U Daung Rying, aged 42, from Khongdaing Village in Maungdaw Township. Additionally, another person, U Abu La Chain, aged 55, from Nganchaung North Village in Maungdaw Township, had his right leg amputated.
The individual who passed away, U Daung Rying (42), triggered a landmine while he was walking alongside several villagers between the Labawwa and Thanphra streams to gather bamboo on November 14.
Due to the mine explosion, he lost his left leg, and he passed away on the way to a nearby hospital for medical care.
It was learned that he was cremated at 12 pm on November 15.
