The Chaung U People’s Defense Force (CPDF) reported to Mizzima that revolutionary forces ambushed two junta armoured vehicles along the Chaung U-Myinmu road in Sagaing Region, resulting in the deaths of 17 soldiers, including an officer, and the seizure of 12 firearms.

According to a CPDF official, the attack occurred at 3:10 am on 4 March as a junta convoy traveling from Monywa to Myinmu township fell into an ambush.

“We targeted the armoured vehicles with artillery, and once they halted, we launched a coordinated assault,” the official said.
