The Muslim community in Arakan has stated that ethnic and religious animosity can no longer be fostered in areas under the control of the Arakan Army (AA).
According to Saya Vasel, the Maungdaw District Jury Leader, the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government, which includes the AA, no longer discriminates against residents of Arakan State based on ethnicity or religion.
Saya Vasel recounted a past incident: "There is an individual named Sarapha Khaing Lin Kyaw from the military council in Buthidaung. They paid Muslim militiamen to set fire to Rakhine houses and forced them to destroy homes, actions that are unforgettable. Despite this, there was no conflict between the two communities."
He further stated that the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government has been consistently working to promote harmony and coexistence among all ethnic groups, effectively eradicating ethnic conflicts.
