Junta Air Strike Hits Thandwe Town Residential Area, Injuring Civilians and Damaging Nine Homes

On February 8, 2026, at approximately 1:35 PM, an air attack carried out by the junta military forces targeted a residential neighborhood in Thandwe Township, Thandwe town, Ward No. 3, along Bo Gyoke Road.



According to an initial report submitted by the Thandwe District Administration Department, the air strike caused severe injuries to at least two civilians:



U Aung Than Lwin (approximately 50 years old), who sustained a broken left arm.


U Thet Aung (approximately 50 years old), who suffered a serious head injury with skull fracture.



The attack also resulted in significant property damage, with nine neighboring homes completely destroyed or heavily damaged. The affected households include those of Daw Aye, Daw Chann May, U Tin Aung, U La Lu, U Mo, Daw Htwe Kyi, and Ko Nge Nge.
