According to monitoring carried out by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), political prisoners continue to face oppression—including extortion, and torture—by prison staff. In Daik-U Prison, Bago Region, a female political prisoner was placed in solitary confinement by prison authorities on the grounds that she was sleeping during morning prayer. She had reportedly only been lying down because she was unwell.

In addition, the junta has intensified its targeting of civilians. Junta forces set fire to houses in Hla Taw Village, Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, for three consecutive days starting on November 10, destroying nearly 100 houses. On November 13, three more villages in the same township were burned down, destroying more than 100 additional houses. On November 12, junta forces entered villages in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, and captured several civilians, torturing and killing two of those detained. On November 15, junta forces carried out an airstrike on Bar Ta Lay and Nwar Tin Goke Villages in Rathedaung Township, Rakhine State, reportedly killing five civilians.
