27 civilians, including 12 women, killed in Bago Region within 3 months due to Myanmar junta

According to data compiled by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), 27 civilians, including 12 women, were killed in Bago Region between July and September due to the actions of the Myanmar military junta.

Based on AAPP’s documentation, the identities of 27 victims 12 women and 15 men killed in Bago Region between 1 July and 24 September as a result of the junta’s actions have been fully verified.

Among those killed, five were children under the age of 18, according to AAPP.

Regarding causes of death, airstrikes accounted for the highest toll, claiming the lives of 20 individuals.

AAPP also said it has separately recorded the names of 10 other civilians who died during this period, with efforts underway to further verify their information.

Since the military coup in February 2021 up to 24 September 2026, a total of 8,423 pro-democracy activists and civilians have been killed by the junta and its proxies during the Spring Revolution, according to AAPP.
