US Strike Force Launches Operations Against Myanmar-Based Scam Networks

The US Justice Department said on Wednesday that the Burma Team of its newly formed Scam Center Strike Force (SCSF) had already started taking action against scam operations in Myanmar.

The strike force has deployed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents to Thailand to combat scam compounds in Myanmar, including the notorious KK Park hub under the protection of the Myanmar regime’s Karen State Border Guard Force (BGF), the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said in a statement announcing the SCSF’s formation.

It said the body was established to crack down on Chinese transnational criminal organizations defrauding billions of dollars from Americans through scam centers based in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
