The Chin Defence Forces-Asho (CDF-Asho) reported that three soldiers from the military have surrendered with their weapons at the battlefield close to Nat Yay Kan in the Magway Region, where fighting is occurring with the AA.
The three junta army soldiers are Ko Moe Kyaw, aged 33; Ko Mya Min Khaing, who is 28 years old; and Ko Thein Maw, also 33 years of age. They were part of the 88th Division and surrendered to CDF Asho from the front lines close to Pazhi Village along the Old Nat Yay Kan Road in Ngaphe Township.
In a statement issued by CDF-Asho today, December 24, it was announced that the three individuals surrendered on December 14 and December 19.
They reported that they are losing their motivation to continue fighting because of torture and are making daily efforts to leave the army, as three soldiers faced severe mistreatment by their superiors on the front lines.
The statement was issued by the three soldiers who capitulated to the Chin Defense Force-Asho. The existing military government has been breaching the conscription law by enlisting young men from across Myanmar to serve in the army, deploying them to the front lines where combat is occurring.
Young men who are reluctant to engage in combat are being dispatched to the front lines with little training, leading to numerous fatalities each day. According to CDF-Asho, soldiers who have been compelled to serve can choose to surrender at any moment.
