The National Unity Government (NUG)
Acting President of the NUG Duwa Lashi La stated that he always wishes good health for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. He also called on the international community to help with the release of public leaders and political prisoners.
In Tanintharyi Region, a regiment under Karen National Union had detained over 40 people including civilians as well as strategic officers and members of the People’s Defence Force under the Ministry of Defence-NUG. Reportedly, a negotiation was successfully made on Thursday regarding the temporary detention.
In accordance with the guideline of Union Parliament or Pyitaungsu Hluttaw, they conducted their 8th meeting on Thursday. Reportedly, the Patron of the Union Parliament U Aung Kyi Nyunt delivered the opening speech. The Acting President Duwa Lashi La, Union Prime Minister Man Win Khan Than and the joint Chair of ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights (APHR) Hon. Charles Santiago also delivered speeches respectively.
The Acting President of the NUG urged Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw to take proactive action regarding the risk of sensitive political views beyond the junta’s sham election.
In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, a second sergeant and 2 conscripted soldiers from the junta’s Regiment (577), along with weapons, defected to the Tanintharyi Regional Command.
Union Prime Minister of the NUG Man Win Khine Than stated that the NUG would not hesitate to make necessary reforms for the swift victory of the revolution.
The National Unity Consultative Council stated that they believe the establishment of Spring Revolution Alliance is the pathway to the success of the revolution.
Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun stated that the military junta had oppressed the freedom of access to information and arbitrarily arrested 225 journalists. He added that 9 media professionals had lost their lives due to the junta army and their followers.
According to the NUG Representative Office to South Korea, the Korean MPs condemned the human rights violations and sham election of Myanmar military junta.
