Scam Workers Flee as BGF Vows ‘Final War’ on Shwe Kokko Scam Hub

The Myanmar junta-allied Karen State Border Guard Force (BGF) and regime forces on Tuesday raided the notorious Shwe Kokko scam hub, which has until now operated under its protection.

The raid came a day after the junta’s BGF announced a “final war” against the scam operations in the compound on the Thai-Myanmar border in Karen State’s Myawaddy Township.

Forces from the BGF and the Myanmar military and police raided the crime hub, arresting over 300 foreign nationals, most of them believed to be Chinese citizens, from scam centers and seizing large numbers of computers and mobile phones, according to Thai media outlet The Reporters.
