Pregnant Woman Killed, 10 Civilians Injured in Myanmar Military Airstrike on Mrauk-U Residence
NARINJARA, November 6, 2026
A pregnant woman was killed and nearly 10 other civilians were injured after the Myanmar military launched a late-night airstrike on a residential home in Nan Kyar village, located in Rakhine State's Mrauk-U Township.
The targeted area is currently under the control of the Arakan Army (AA).
The attack occurred on November 5 at approximately 11:28 PM when a military jet fighter dropped bombs on the village. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Daw Thae Thae Mon, a resident of Nan Kyar who was four months pregnant. She is survived by her husband and two daughters.
"They bombed a house in the village. Our home is located just two houses away," the victim's husband stated, noting that the strike happened well after 11:00 PM. "There was no active fighting in the area, nor were there any AA personnel present. They deliberately targeted civilians living in the village."
Local sources report that the aerial bombardment damaged more than 10 homes, completely destroying three of them.
This tragedy follows a separate, highly condemned aerial assault by the military junta on November 1st at around 5:30 PM. In that incident, two jet fighters bombed a temporary maternity clinic near the Ngwe Taung Pauk Bridge in Mrauk-U's Thamma Raj Ward.
According to reports from local residents and humanitarian organizations like Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the November 1st clinic bombing killed five civilians, including a newborn baby, and injured nine others. Several medical staff members were also wounded, and the healthcare facility was severely damaged alongside surrounding residential homes.
