Over 700 garment workers forced back to work after strike at Chinese-owned factory in Yangon

Over 700 employees at the Myanmar Silver Spring Enterprises Limited, located in the East Dagon Industrial Zone, were forced to end their strike and return to work on Monday after facing intense pressure and threats from management and local police forces.

The walkout is part of a broader wave of industrial unrest across Yangon’s manufacturing districts, where over 1,200 garment factory workers have launched strikes this month to demand wage increases to keep pace with severe post-coup inflation and soaring living costs.
