NUG Foreign Minister attends 62nd Munich Security Conference

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government (NUG), Daw Zin Mar Aung, attended the 62nd Munich Security Conference 2026 in Munich, Germany.


The NUG Foreign Ministry released a video clip of the event on the evening of 15 February. The conference, held from 13 to 15 February cantered on global challenges, the erosion of international norms, and emerging technological threats. Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung was attending for the fourth consecutive year since the revolution began in 2021.


During the conference, the Minister met with international leaders and delegates, presenting to the world the on-the-ground realities and human rights violations faced by the people of Myanmar. She outlined the progress and challenges of the Spring Revolution, promoted global awareness of the shared position of Myanmar’s people and revolutionary organizations, and worked to ensure that the Myanmar crisis remains on the international agenda amid pressing global issues.


“Our responsibility is to ensure that the international community understands our country, our revolution, the aspirations of our people, and both the achievements and challenges we face,” Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung said.


She added that the conference provided an opportunity to strengthen networks with European and global leaders, as well as key officials, showcase the resilience of the Myanmar people and the progress of the revolution, and reaffirm her commitment to ending military dictatorship and securing the people’s freedom as swiftly as possible.


The minister added that the conference serves as a crucial platform to draw international attention to the Myanmar crisis, noting that it brings together world leaders in one place and offers a rare opportunity to elevate the issue on the global stage.


This year’s Munich Security Conference has drawn more than 1,000 representatives from around the world, including over 60 heads of state and approximately 100 foreign and defence ministers, underscoring the scale and significance of the annual gathering.
