Myanmar Resistance Groups Deny Meeting Junta Officials in Indonesia

Revolutionary groups that attended a forum in Indonesia recently have denied online rumors that they held talks with Myanmar junta officials during the trip.

Resistance figures told The Irrawaddy that the online claims—and resulting furor—were misplaced and probably sparked by confusion about who attended Indonesian government workshops, and when.

“We did not attend any session with the junta,” a representative of one of five groups contacted by The Irrawaddy said. “They were invited separately, and we had no knowledge of when or where they would participate.”
