Myanmar junta troops raided upper and lower Taik villages in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region on 11 September, killing one man and setting fire to around 50 houses in upper Taik Village, according to the Wetlet Information Network.

Ko Nagar Lay, the network’s leader, reported that about 100 junta soldiers were involved in the operation. A mentally ill man named Ko Naing was shot and killed, while three elderly individuals and one middle-aged man were arrested and taken as hostages.

The attacking columns were reportedly from Sheinmakar police station and Sintgaing. One group entered Taik village, while another moved toward Talaing village in Sagaing Township, where further arson was reported.

As of the morning of 12 September, local sources confirmed that investigations into the destruction in Taik Village were still ongoing. Meanwhile, the military column in Talaing village was advancing southwest.

Although no direct clashes occurred between junta forces and revolutionary groups, resistance fighters stated they remain focused on protecting civilians.

The raid follows a series of escalating military operations in the region.

On 10 September, a 300-pound bomb was dropped on a school in Thitseint village, east of Wetlet Township.

Airstrikes on 9 September also hit Thitseint, Indaung, Yonepingon, Mingon, Nabepinhla, and Tatthar villages, killing at least four people, including a child.
