Myanmar Military Regime Launches Fresh Airstrikes in Ye Township in Mon State Despite Absence of Fighting
The Myanmar military regime carried out another airstrike on the Ye Chaung Pyar region in Mon State's Ye Township around midnight on October 14, despite no active ground combat in the area, according to local sources.
Preliminary reports indicate that a regime aircraft dropped two 500-pound bombs between Kinmun and Daepyar villages within the Ye Chaung Pyar region.
"The area was previously used as a training ground by Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 27. There were no casualties because no one lives there," a local source from Ye Chaung Pyar said. Although no human casualties were reported, the bombing caused damage to local plantations.
A revolutionary source noted that the military regime has continued targeting the Ye Chaung Pyar region with aerial bombardments despite the complete absence of clashes or ground offensives involving regime troops and revolutionary allied forces.
"There have been no military columns entering the area. They are simply carrying out airstrikes whenever they want," the source said.
In May and June, the regime conducted repeated airstrikes on the Ye Chaung Pyar region, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. Revolutionary forces reported that while the military had temporarily halted aerial attacks in the area following those incidents, it has now resumed bombing operations.
According to records compiled by the Burma News International-Myanmar Peace Monitor (BNI-MPM), the military regime carried out 2,449 airstrikes across Myanmar between January 2024 and July 2026, with nearly 70 percent of those attacks reportedly targeting civilian areas.
