In his 2025 New Year’s address, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, head of the State Administration Council (SAC), claimed that despite significant economic setbacks following Myanmar’s military takeover, the council has achieved some progress in national development.
He highlighted the successful completion of the 2024 Population and Housing Census and the hosting of the 5th National Sports Festival, which he claimed set the stage for improving the country’s sports standards.
