Myanmar junta troops and the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF)/Karen National Army (KNA) have jointly demolished the notorious KK Park compound, a major hub for cross-border online scam operations, sparking allegations that crucial evidence of criminal activities is being deliberately destroyed.
According to technology experts and online scam monitors, members of scam gangs from various countries fled the 500-acre KK Park site on 22 October. The compound is located between Mae Htaw Tha Lay and Ingyin Myaing villages near Myawaddy town on the Thailand-Myanmar border.
Beginning 23 October, local residents reported that military and BGF/KNA troops were using excavators to demolish buildings inside the compound during the evenings.
Technology experts say the demolition is a systematic effort to destroy evidence linked to large-scale cybercrime and human trafficking.
