400 more reinforcements were sent by the Myanmar military to the Kyaukphyu battleground due to heavy casualties among the junta forces, informed a local military source while talking to Narinjara News on 30 January.

\The source mentioned that the fighting in Kyaukphyu became intense, leading to the army sending reinforcements incrementally to address the significant losses suffered in the battle against the Arakan Army fighters.

On the night of 30 January, the soldiers were transported to the Dhanyawaddy naval headquarters and Battalion (34). The source also added that approximately 200 soldiers were sent to Dhanyawaddy and 200 others to the 34th Battalion.

The soldiers, many of whom recently completed militia training after recruiting forcefully under the junta’s conscript law, were loaded onto the navy ships from the port.

Various reports suggest that fierce fighting continues at four areas outside Kyaukphyu locality, which houses many Chinese projects, against the AA fighters.

The army suffered hundreds of casualties from the strategic AA guerilla fighters since the last week of January. Soldiers' bodies remained unattended in some locations.

The AA fighters continue attacking military positions, including the Tai Chaung Dam and Min Pyint Radar Station, leading to blockades and sniper fire against the military personnel.

The military columns advancing to various areas of Kyaukphyu also faced attacks from the armed fighters causing heavy casualties. The militaries are using artillery, drones, and naval forces to anticipate the AA fighters’ movements to engage in combat.

During November last year, around 500 troops from the Military Commission's Division (11) were sent to Kyaukphyu by the waterways. Captain Zin Yaw reported on 1 December 2025 that the 11th division's tactical unit (NABH) 111 Myo Min Thant consisted of around 500 soldiers, who were dispatched to Kyaukphyu.
