Military junta shelling kills five-year-old girl, severely injured two others

According to reports, a 5-year-old girl lost her life, and two others suffered serious injuries when artillery was fired by the Sittwe battalion, which is controlled by the Myanmar military, into villages located in Pauktaw Township, an area under the control of the Arakan Army (AA).
The girl who passed away was identified as Ma Zin Cho Ei (5 years old), the daughter of U Nay Zaw Htun, residing in Taung Nyo Village, Pauktaw Township.
A local resident reported that a battalion stationed in Sittwe, the capital of Arakan State, fired artillery into Taung Nyo Village at least five times around 2 p.m. on October 29.
“There was no fighting. They were intentionally shooting at a tranquil village. One of the projectiles struck Taung Nyo village and detonated. A young girl was killed and two others sustained injuries, he stated.
