Man in Taungup Loses His Left Leg After Treading on Landmine


A man had his left leg amputated after stepping on a landmine in Taungup Town, Arakan State. 


The individual, 34-year-old U Maung Htay Win, resides in Kan Paing Ward in Taungup. 


A nearby resident reported that at approximately 12:30 pm on March 11, U Maung Htay Win was looking for food close to the junta's 5th Military Operations Command (MOC-5) when he triggered a landmine laid by junta troops, leading to the loss of his left leg.
