KNLA Ambushes Junta Convoy Near Dawei Seaport, Killing 12 Soldiers and Seizing Weapons

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) intercepted and attacked a military junta convoy heading toward the Dawei Deep Sea Port yesterday, killing 12 regime soldiers and capturing eight firearms.

The KNU Myeik-Dawei District Public Relations and Information Department released details of the clash on August 30. According to the report, joint revolutionary forces seized six MA-1 assault rifles, two MA-3 assault rifles, and a cache of ammunition during the operation.

The ambush took place on August 29 at approximately 6:30 AM in Le Do Soe Township, a region under the control of the Karen National Union (KNU) Myeik-Dawei District. Junta troops were targeted after marching into revolutionary territory near Maung Mae Xiao Village.

The successful operation was a coordinated effort between the DNLA (Dawei National Liberation Army) and the KNLA’s 4th Brigade, specifically involving Company 5 of Battalion 12 and Company 4 of Battalion 10.
