Karen Rebels Declare Curfew to Stop Flow of Fugitive Scammers

ree

The Karen National Union (KNU) has imposed a curfew and travel ban to stop a stream of fugitive criminals relocating from the scam centers on the border with Thailand.

KNU authorities who administer Kyondoe on Asian Highway 1, which leads to the border, have also banned locals from sheltering any fugitives that might make their way there from the scam center hub of Myawaddy.

In a statement Wednesday, the KNU said the regime is “staging fake crackdowns” on the online scam centers “in which it is itself involved” while secretly relocating the foreign scammers who work there.
