Junta forces closure of anticipated mohinga shop in Mandalay

A new restaurant in Mandalay city, praised for hiring and supporting widows, was forced to close by junta officials on Monday, according to locals.The owners chose the name “Widows’ Village” because the shop was run by widows, as stated on its Facebook page before it was removed following the closure.A video from its opening day displayed customers enjoying mohinga, a fish soup made with rice noodles widely recognised as Myanmar’s national dish, and engaging in lively conversations inside the shop.”
