Members of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reportedly fought junta troops this week in northern Shan State despite ongoing participation in peace talks by the group’s leaders in China.

Lt-Gen Tar Gu Jar and Col. Tar Moe Hein, the head of Ta’ang armed group’s Allied Relations Department, are among the TNLA delegation attending Chinese government-brokered ceasefire negotiations in Kunming, the capital of China’s Yunnan Province.
