The number of civilian fatalities is rising as the Myanmar junta's air force conducts daily bombings of towns and villages in Rakhine State under the control of the Arakan Army.

On the afternoon of November 8, the Myanmar Air Force conducted yet another airstrike in the townships of Pauktaw and Ponnagyun in Rakhine State, resulting in the deaths of six civilians, including women, and causing injuries to others.

A 500-pound bomb released by a military jet fighter in Pauktaw detonated close to Myoma School, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and causing injuries to several others, a local resident told Narinjara News.

“Four individuals lost their lives instantly. We are still assessing the injured. Many IDP refugees are in the schools," he stated.

In a similar incident, a jet fighter struck a school located near the village of Kyauk Than Chey in Ponnagyun Township, along the Ponnagyun-Rathedaung road, on the same day, resulting in the deaths of two women from nearby homes.
