Human Rights Now (HRN) submitted a statement on 4 February to the 58th session of the Human Rights Council on the fourth anniversary of the military coup in Myanmar. The statement notes the Myanmar junta’s continued massive human rights violations and calls on states to implement sanctions and a weapons and fuel embargo on Myanmar, support efforts for accountability, increase humanitarian assistance, and require companies with links to Myanmar to conduct heightened human rights due diligence to identify and address any possible links to violations.
