It was reported that five houses were destroyed when the Myanmar Air Force bombed former border police camps occupied by the Arakan Army (AA) last year.
The main office of the border police in Nakhaka No. 7 in Kyein Chaung Village and Ngan Chaung in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, was the focus of the attacks.
Residents indicated that a Y-12 aircraft dropped three 500-pound bombs at approximately 11 pm on December 27.
There was panic as individuals hurriedly sought shelter and concealed themselves because of the intense bombing during the night. Fortunately, there were no injuries," stated a resident of Kyein Chaung.
Five residences sustained damage due to the bombing.
According to Bangladeshi media, the explosions were audible from as far away as the Bangladesh border, raising worries among local residents.
The Border Guard Police Subdivision No. 5 (BGP-5) based in Maungdaw was seized on December 8, 2024, and the Arakan Army (AA) gained control over all of Maungdaw Township.
