Five civilians, including several women, were killed and at least ten others injured after the military junta conducted an aerial bombing attack this evening on Sin Aing, a Rakhine village in Wirathani Township (formerly known as Pauktaw) in Rakhine (Arakan) State.
Locals reported that the casualties occurred after a junta aircraft dropped four bombs on the area at approximately 6:20 PM today, October 10.
"Two bombs landed in the middle of the village, and two landed near the pond just outside," a local resident told Narinjara. "A total of four bombs fell during the junta air force attack on our civilian village."
Narinjara is currently gathering further details regarding the names and ages of the deceased and injured. Early reports indicate that members of the local Muslim community are among the casualties.
Two civilian women among the wounded are currently receiving emergency medical treatment for severe, life-threatening injuries.
This attack follows a similar incident on September 21, when a nighttime junta airstrike on Taung Phu village, also in Wirathani Township, killed one civilian woman and left another injured.
