The junta air force conducted bombing operations on the villages of Batalay and Nwatingkot in Rathedaung Township, located 20 miles north of the state capital, Sittwe, in Arakan (Rakhine) State.

The airstrikes caused the deaths of five civilians, and at least five more sustained injuries.

At approximately 9:30 am, military jets targeted Batalay village in Rathedaung Township, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to four additional individuals.

Soon after, at around 10 am, airstrikes near Nwatingkot village resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to several others, according to a source close to the AA.

The source stated, "Earlier today, airstrikes targeted two civilian villages close to Rathedaung town. Jet fighters released 500-pound bombs, striking two villages. At least five individuals were killed.”

Before this event, on November 8, the air force bombed Kyauk Than Che village in Rathedaung township, resulting in the death of two individuals and one injury.

The military regime has been continuously bombing villages and towns in Rakhine since the junta demanded, through China, the return of Thandwe, Taungup, Gwa, and Ann, which are among the 15 towns taken by the AA, to hold elections. Despite the pressures, the leaders of the AA have declined to return them, which has resulted in continued bombings.

Since October 29, Rakhine has experienced airstrikes, artillery bombardments, and drone attacks in multiple townships, leading to the deaths of at least 40 civilians, including women and children, and injuring more than 50 individuals.
