Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,093) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
A total of (31,170) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,313) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,877) remain to be verified.
These are the numbers reported by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
The junta has continued to carry out attacks targeting civilians in various regions across the country. On June 9, junta forces launched an offensive into Htan Pin Kone Village in Okpho Township, Bago Region and set fire to civilian houses, almost burning down the entire village. On June 9, junta forces set fire to villages in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region for three consecutive days, burning down hundreds of houses in three villages.
In addition, on June 10, junta forces launched an offensive into Mya Gyi Sin Village in Salin Township, Magway Region and apprehended many civilians, before killing one of them and raping two women. On the same day, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Pauk Taw (West) Village in Myaung Township, Sagaing Region, killing three civilians.
