Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,496) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (30,020) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,699) are currently in detention, (11,415) of whom are serving sentences.


According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (86) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the data collected by the AAPP, from November 1 to 25, 2025, (16)children in total under the age of 18; (8) girls and (8) boys, were killed by the junta across the country, including a two year old girl. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Rakhine State records the highest number of deaths, totaling (6), followed by (5) people in Sagaing Region.


Moreover, among the (16) deceased, (13) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death.


On November 21, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on No. (1) Ward, Kyeintali Town, Gwa Township, Rakhine State, despite an absence of clashes. The explosion struck houses in the village and the bomb shrapnel severely injured Chan Bhone Thet. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported for medical treatment.
