A Myanmar military convoy was ambushed by revolutionary joint forces along the Minbu-Ann road in Magway Division on May 28, leaving six junta soldiers dead and three captured, according to a May 29 statement from the National Unity Government’s (NUG) Ministry of Defense.

The coordinated landmine attack was carried out in Minbu Township by a coalition including the Minbu Township People's Defense Force (PDF), the Chin Defense Force-Asho (CDF-Asho), and the New Society Army (NSA).

The NUG statement noted that the initial mine blast triggered a 20-minute firefight.

Revolutionary forces subsequently seized a significant cache of military hardware from the scene, including three Uzi submachine guns, two MA-1 rifles, one MA-2 rifle, 5.56mm ammunition, six 122mm Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) rocket launchers, and 28 MLRS rockets.

This military convoy is reportedly transporting weapons and ammunition to the Nat Yee Kan air defense strategic outpost on Rakhine Roma Mountain, near Padan town in Magwe Division's Nga Pe Township, amid intense ongoing clashes with the Arakan Army.

The CDF-Asho confirmed the casualties and weapon seizures in a separate report on May 29.

Resistance officials emphasized that the successful ambush took place deep within junta-held territory, showcasing the growing combat capabilities and coordination of the PDF and its allied joint forces.
