The Blood Money group has called for a boycott of KFC restaurants, urging opposition to what it describes as corporate financial ties to “human rights violations linked to the conflicts in Myanmar and Palestine”.

The group said it is calling for the boycott because KFC is an international food corporation that the group claims is profiting amid war crimes, mass killings, and human rights violations that have led to the deaths of children and civilians in Myanmar and in Israel.

KFC is just one of a number of Western and foreign companies still operating in Myanmar, despite Western sanctions being imposed on the country after the illegal military coup in 2021.

Citing statements from the group Burma for Palestine / Burma for International, Blood Money claims international reports and news coverage have shown that KFC allegedly provides direct or indirect support enabling the continued military operations of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Myanmar junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
