The Bangladesh government has instructed its ambassador to Myanmar, Md. Monowar Hossain, to return to Dhaka immediately, the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry confirmed on May 27.
The recall of Ambassador Hossain follows heightened diplomatic tensions between Myanmar and Bangladesh, the two neighboring countries, due to his interactions with the Arakan Army (AA), as reported by Banglanews24.
The issue arose after the Myanmar junta filed an official complaint with the Bangladesh government regarding interactions between Bangladeshi officials and the Arakan Army (AA), which governs nearly the entirety of Rakhine State, according to diplomatic sources.
