Bangladesh condemns deadly Myanmar junta attack on Rakhine hospital

The Bangladesh government has issued a statement on 13 December condemning the recent attack on a hospital on Mrauk U General Hospital in Rakhine State in Myanmar bordering Bangladesh.


The attack on 10 December 2025 reportedly struck the 300-bed hospital while it was full of patients, killing at least 30 people and injuring at least 70 others.


The Bangladesh government statement is as follows:


Bangladesh condemns the recent bombing of a hospital in Rakhine and expresses concern with the recent increase of violation of international humanitarian law and violence in the Rakhine State. It conveys its condolences to the families of the deceased and sympathy for those affected.


Bangladesh underscores the importance of protecting civilians and civilian facilities without distinctions, and emphasizes that all communities, including Rohingya and Rakhine, should be spared from violence.
