ASEAN Chair strongly condemns ariel bombing on Mrauk-U Hospital

The current ASEAN chair, Malaysian Prime Minister Ibrahim Anwar Ibrahim, has firmly denounced the airstrike carried out by the military junta on Mrauk-U Hospital located in northern Rakhine State, Myanmar.
He also conveyed ASEAN’s deep concern over the incident, labeling it a violation of international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions.
He further stated that targeting civilians and healthcare facilities is unacceptable and does not align with the principles established in the ASEAN Charter. We express our deepest condolences to the families of those who have suffered loss and hope for a swift recovery for the injured.
