Appeal for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners in Myanmar

The 29th Forum 2000 Conference in Prague, Czech Republic has issued an official appeal calling for the release of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners in Myanmar.

The following is their statement:

We, the members of the International Coalition for Democratic Renewal (ICDR) and the participants of the 29th Forum 2000 Conference, call urgently upon:

• the political leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states, as well as of India, China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia,

• and the leaders of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the member states of the European Union,

to use their influence to secure the immediate and unconditional release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners in Myanmar.
