Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun urges UN to reject Myanmar junta’s sham election

On 16 December, Myanmar’s UN Ambassador, Kyaw Moe Tun, stated that the military junta has restricted media freedom and access to information since the 2021 coup. He called on the international community to reject the junta’s sham election and support Myanmar’s fight for a federal democracy.

His remarks were delivered at the High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Overall Review of the Implementation of the Outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society in New York.
