Airstrike injures civilians in Ayeyarwady Region as major dam breach floods Lemyethna Township

Four civilians were injured when the Myanmar Air Force bombed a village in Ayeyarwady Region’s Lemyethna Township on Sunday, compounding a severe humanitarian emergency triggered by catastrophic regional flooding.

The airstrike hit as more than 14,000 residents were reeling from rising floodwaters caused by a 50-foot (15-meter) breach in the Ngawun Dam on July 31 following days of relentless monsoon rainfall.
