About 50 soldiers, including commander, killed, 15 taken prisoner, more than 20 weapons confiscated in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region

As stated in a press release from the Sagaing Region People’s Defense Forces (PDF), a conflict took place in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region. During this battle, around 50 members of the junta army, including a tactical operation commander, were killed. Furthermore, 15 individuals were captured, and over 20 weapons were taken by the PDF.

The conflict occurred at approximately 9 am on November 12 near Yintaik Village in Kanbalu Township. The military experienced significant losses and was defeated, leading to the collapse of their column.

The column, consisting of approximately 100 soldiers from the Light Infantry Battalion (LIB-111) belonging to the 33rd Division and the Pyu Saw Htee, was attacked in Kanbalu Township while they were moving forward from the Wettoe military base located in Khin Oo Township.
