U Khine Thu Kha, the spokesperson for the Arakan Army (AA), stated in an interview with the Irrawaddy news agency that while the terrorist Myanmar military is attempting an amphibious landing on Ngapyi Island located between Wira Thani Township and Sittwe Township in Arakan State, they are suffering casualties and surrenders.

"Thinking they could easily take Ngapyi Island, they came to land there," U Khine Thu Kha said. "When they did, fierce battles broke out, and on their side, naval vessels caught fire, people fell, soldiers were killed, and those who went up were captured they are trapped in this vicious cycle. So, things didn't go as they expected. From the very day they landed on Ngapyi Island, about 50 people were killed, and some also fell on the island."

During the Ngapyi Island landing battle, the terrorist Myanmar military has been trying to reach the shore by using near-constant aerial fire support. However, due to the Arakan Army (AA) heavy weapon attacks deterring and firing upon their naval vessels, some boats caught fire and were destroyed, and they are facing heavy casualties and losses in the landing battles.

It is known that the Arakan Army (AA) is fiercely fighting off the advancing terrorist military on Ngapyi Island and is also attacking terrorist military bases near the Sittwe garrison.

Amidst these conditions, the terrorist Myanmar military has increased security along the Sittwe Shwe Min Gan Naval Base and the Sittwe Point coastline, launching an offensive on Ngapyi Island utilizing nearly a thousand naval vessels and troops.

However, military news sources state that the terrorist Myanmar military's offensive on Ngapyi Island has been unsuccessful, suffering heavy blows with surrenders and deaths.

Ngapyi Island, situated along the Kaladan River, is a strategically important location.

Although the terrorist Myanmar military attempted to regain territorial control via the waterways and provided aerial fire support, they had to retreat due to the defensive counterattacks by the Arakan Army.
