88 dead and 36 rescued in earthquake-hit Sagaing Town

The Fire Services Department has reported that 88 bodies have been recovered and 36 people rescued in Sagaing Town following a devastating earthquake. The casualties and survivors were found across multiple locations in the city.
In Parami Ward, the quake affected a school for the blind, a nunnery, and several residential homes. Nearby, the New Embrace KTV and Po Tan Ward's education college and Basic Education High School (1) also suffered damage. The Swe Taw Nan Guest House and Toe Tat Wei Computer Shop were among other impacted structures.
