83 Women Lost Their Lives in Arakan State, 478 Nationwide in Myanmar During Armed Conflict in 2024

On January 20, the Burmese Women's Union (BWU) announced that 83 women were killed in Arakan State, while 478 women died throughout Myanmar due to the armed conflict in 2024. 


In 2024, there were 109 fatalities among women in Sagaing Region, 92 in Shan State, and 83 in Arakan State.
