700 billion kyats in loans to be disbursed for recovery efforts in earthquake-affected areas

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that 700 billion kyats in loans will be disbursed for the recovery efforts in earthquake-affected areas.

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Forum on Rebuilding Myanmar: Post-Earthquake Economic Recovery held at Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on May 30.

The loans should be provided at low interest rates so that investments can be made. In addition, since there is 226 billion kyats left in the National Economic Development Fund, he wants to provide loans to oil mills and factories and workshops. On the other hand, it is necessary to take measures to reduce commodity prices while promoting the economy, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.
