A total of 118 illegal foreign nationals, believed to be workers from the KK Park compounds in Myawaddy, have been systematically detained and are currently undergoing necessary screenings, according to the National Defence and Security Council Press Office.

In response to a BBC inquiry regarding the situation following the military’s entry into KK Park, the NDSC Press Office stated that as of October 22, 114 men and 4 women had been detained by security forces. “Once the screening process is completed, arrangements will be made to transfer them to their respective countries in accordance with established procedures,” the statement said.

The NDSC Press Office added that security forces are continuing to search the Myawaddy area and detain additional illegal foreigners. It also reported that on the morning of October 23, a total of 677 people, including 618 men and 59 women, arrived to Thailand. Local authorities have been instructed to take action against illegal activities such as online fraud, as well as the construction and operation of buildings linked to such crimes.

The Tatmadaw announced that it cleared the KK Park area—known for online gambling operations—on October 19. During the clearance, authorities seized 30 Starlink satellite dishes and discovered 227 buildings and 43 under construction. A total of 2,198 individuals were found on the site, including 1,645 male workers, 455 female workers, and 98 male security personnel.
