107mm rockets launched at Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Mandalay to perform magical Yadaya ritual

Narinjara News, January 27, 2026

On Monday afternoon, the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) announced that revolutionary forces targeted the Central Military Command (CMC) in Mandalay, where military junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was staying, with 107mm rockets.

At 4:30 am on January 27, the revolutionary forces fired five rockets of 107mm caliber at the Central Military Command (CMC) in Mandalay, where the coup leader was temporarily based, and three of them successfully detonated, the statement indicated.

According to the report, Min Aung Hlaing, was present at the CMC while he was visiting polling stations in Mandalay for a staged sham election.

The statement detailed that after learning Min Aung Hlaing was scheduled to enter through the Minglar bridge of the Mandalay Palace at 4:41 am on January 27, dressed in ceremonial royal regalia intended for a Yadaya performance (remedial magical ritual to avert impending misfortune or to bring good luck), their groups organized and executed an attack overnight.

The BWM group, which included the No More Dictatorship (NMD-PDF), Shadow (Mandalay), and Infinity (Ana) factions, was responsible for carrying out the assault. Preliminary inquiries indicate that three of the rockets struck the CMC and hit the residence of the commander.

The BWM is actively looking into the specifics of the Military Commission’s casualties and will release further information as it becomes available.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who serves as the Chairman of the Military Commission, was at the Central Military Command in Mandalay in early October 2025 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mandalay University.

During that period, on October 4 at 6:15 am, the BWM and the Revolutionary Joint Forces launched two electrically initiated 107mm rockets at the Central Military Command.
